Xu Bing introduced that in recent years, the structure of China's export commodities has continued to optimize. A number of high-tech, high value-added, green and low-carbon products have significantly improved their international competitiveness. From January to August this year, exports of mechanical and electrical products increased by 23.8%, accounting for 58.8%. The "new three" exports represented by new energy vehicles, photovoltaic products and lithium batteries increased by 34.7% year-on-year. The quality, grade, technical content and brand recognition of traditional labor-intensive products have also been continuously improved.

Xu Bing said that the Canton Fair as a "barometer" and "weather vane" of foreign trade, its exhibition structure is also an important embodiment of China's industrial structure and export commodity structure changes. The 134th Canton Fair comprehensively considered the development of China's manufacturing industry, changes in the structure of export commodities, industrial correlation and enterprise booth demand and other factors, advancing with The Times, optimized the structure of the exhibition area. First, inter-period adjustment. The two exhibition areas of building and decorative materials and bathroom equipment will be transferred from the first phase to the second phase, and the five exhibition areas of toys, maternity and baby products, pet products, personal care appliances and bathroom products will be transferred from the second phase to the third phase. Second, subdivide the exhibition area. The exhibition area of engineering agricultural machinery is subdivided into the exhibition area of construction machinery and agricultural machinery, the exhibition area of chemical products is renamed as the exhibition area of new materials and chemical products, and the exhibition area of new energy and intelligent connected vehicles is renamed as the exhibition area of new energy vehicles and smart travel.

Xu Bing said that the optimization of the exhibition area structure of the current Canton Fair is the largest adjustment since the 104th session in 2008, which plays an important role in the future of the Canton Fair and promoting the high-quality development of foreign trade.

After the optimization of the structure of the exhibition area, compared with the previous session, the scale of the exhibition area of electrical and mechanical products such as home appliances, consumer electronics, machinery and equipment, and new energy in the first phase of the Canton Fair has been further expanded, increasing by about 3,000 booths, an increase of over 18%, providing opportunities for more high-tech and high value-added enterprises to participate in the exhibition, exhibiting more innovative, high-end, intelligent and green products. Among them, the scale of the new energy exhibition area increased by 172%, which will further help the "new three" products to expand exports and promote the development of emerging industries.

Second, we will inject vitality into the development of foreign trade industries with traditional advantages. The second and third phases of the Canton Fair mainly exhibited traditional labor-intensive products such as household goods, gift decorations, building materials and furniture, and textile and clothing. After the optimization of the structure of the exhibition area, the second and third phases will respectively create the theme of everyone's residence and a better life, which is conducive to exerting the linkage effect of related themes, better displaying the products of the whole industrial chain, facilitating one-stop procurement for global buyers, bringing more business opportunities, and injecting vitality into the development of traditional advantageous industries.
